Leftovers Special part 1
#weloveleftovers – Stop throwing away perfectly good food! Make the most of your leftovers with our waste-saving tips.
Part 1: stop wasting, start swapping
You don’t want to throw out food, but you’re not exactly looking forward to eating the same leftovers three days in a row. Well, maybe the guy next door is hungry, or a couple down the street has a half-eaten dish you would die for!
1. With an app
Free apps like LeftoverSwap (www.leftoverswap.com) allow you to snap a picture of your leftovers, post it in a database, and share food with hungry neighbors. And while you are at it, you can choose something from the menu yourself.
2. Via the web
Sharing meals from Poland to Rome is easy, fast and cheap via food swap websites like www.shareyourmeal.net.
3. At a food swap event
Excellent way to get rid of gluts and share homemade or homegrown foods in a relaxed setting with other swappers. Find or create a food swap event in your area via www.foodswapnetwork.com (under construction for now).
